First of all, this Rs5,999/- is the price for Tata Sky Plus+ hardware and there is an additional fess Rs1000 for installation.

Existing Tata Sky subscribers shall have two options:

1. Install the new Tata Sky+ digicomp as a primary connection. OR
2. Install the new Tata Sky+ digicomp as a primary connection and convert their existing Tata Sky/ Tata Sky+ connection(s) into a multiroom connection(s) . [Currently, under a separate offer titled: ‘ Installation free Offer’, Existing Tata Sky subscribers get a complete waiver on the Standard Installation charges of Rs 500 in case of a multiroom connection. This waiver of standard installation charges on multiroom connection shall apply where You convert your Tata Sky connection(s) into a multiroom connection(s) so long as the Installation free offer lasts]

Definitions

1. Offer Period: – January 4, 2010 onwards (offer valid till stocks last)
2. Tata Sky+ hardware: Tata Sky+ digicomp, remote control and AV cord.
3. Tata Sky+ Usage Fee: a monthly fee chargeable on a per day basis for offering the PVR functionality on Tata Sky+.
4. You: refers to Existing and New subscribers.

Additional Terms – Existing Subscriber

1. An Existing subscriber must be in active state at the time of availing the Offer.
2. Existing subscribers must provide their subscriber id at the time of purchase in case of purchases made over the helpline and at the time of scheduling the installation in case of purchases made at dealer outlets. Waiver of standard installation charges shall be applicable provided the installation takes place only at the Address of the Existing subscriber.
3. The balance available in the Existing subscribers Tata Sky Subscriber Account cannot be adjusted against the cost of the Tata Sky+ digicomp.
4. Existing subscriber will need to purchase the Tata Sky+ digicomp from the Tata Sky helpline or the dealer by paying Rs 5,999. This offer is not available on purchases made over the Tata Sky website. 
5. Existing subscribers shall sign the Tata Sky Subscription contract again at the time of installation.

General Terms & Conditions

1. A 12 month warranty will apply on the Tata Sky+ digicomp from the date of activation of Tata Sky+ service.  Warranty on existing Tata Sky digicomp shall continue as per the original warranty period.
2. The Tata Sky+ Usage Fee is Nil for all Tata Sky+ subscribers buying Tata Sky+ during the Offer Period. 
3. Tata Sky+ will be installed as a primary connection and not as a multiroom connection except in case of a purchase of a second Tata Sky+ digicomp.
4. In case a Non Standard Installation or Premium Installation is required, additional installation charges as applicable shall be levied.
5. Tata Sky reserves the right at anytime, without prior notice, to add or vary all or any of these terms and conditions or to replace, wholly or in part this offer or to withdraw it completely.
6. By availing of the Offer, You hereby agree to comply with these terms and conditions and waive any right to claim ambiguity in these terms and conditions.
7. You agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless Tata Sky and its respective affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of its respective agents, representatives, officers, directors, shareholders and employees from and against any injuries, losses, damages, claims, actions, or any liability of any kind resulting from or arising from your or any third party’s use (or misuse) of the Offer.
8. You will need to separately recharge your Tata Sky Subscriber Account for subscription to a Tata Sky Base Package.
9. You acknowledge and agree that all disputes in relation to this Offer shall be exclusively subject to Delhi jurisdiction.
10. These terms and conditions are in addition to the Terms & Conditions of the Tata Sky Subscription Contract and if there are any inconsistencies between the two, these terms and conditions shall govern for the limited purpose as specified herein. These terms and conditions shall not constitute a modification or waiver of any other provision of the Tata Sky Subscription Contract. Terms used herein but not defined shall have the same meaning as assigned to them in the Tata Sky Subscription Contract.

“MPEG-4 and DVB S2 are compression standards and have no impact on video picture quality. We want to correct the myth in the minds of the consumers that MPEG-4 DVB S2 provides better picture quality than other technologies used to provide digital signals,” said Tata Sky chief marketing officer Vikram Mehra.
The country’s six DTH service providers use different compression technologies ranging from MPEG2 to MPEG4 to provide digital television signals to consumers through satellite. Though compression technologies determine a service provider’s number of channels to consumers, they have no impact on video quality.
Airtel Digital Television launched two commercials titled “Dil Titli” featuring Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor— one is still running — which highlighted the clarity card. According to Tata Sky, ASCI has agreed to review the ad, which “seeks to disparage other digital platforms”.

But Airtel Digital Television spokesperson said ASCI has not upheld the complaint and his company is not targeting a particular operator. “We have sent our reply to ACI. Our claim is that our technology is superior to ordinary technology, which includes analogue cable.”

Tata Sky subscribers participating in the Promotion shall be bound by the following terms and conditions:

Definitions

1. “Promotion Period” means the period of the Promotion from 00:00 hours on 19 November 2009 till 23:59 hours on 30 November 2009
2. “Recharge” means a Tata Sky account recharge done by You in a single transaction during the Promotion Period on the Tata Sky Helpline (IVR) using your credit card or the Atom mobile application.
